360 Virtual Tour - Mechanics, Behavior, and Selection of Materials Laboratory
This is a 360 degree virtual tour of the Mechanics, Behavior, and Selection of Materials Laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Cal Poly Pomona. For best results, go to Settings (the gear icon) and select at least 4k resolution. If you are using a mobile device (like a phone), move the phone to view different parts of the lab. If you are on a laptop or desktop computer, you can change the viewing angle by clicking and dragging the screen.
Students often take this course (ME 3501L) in their final year in the Mechanical Engineering program. Dr. Haghi is the director for this course.

Hello sir. Can you please help me with the solution for a 3D transient heat conduction equation with heat generation? I can't find it anywhere. So T(x,y,z,t) for a rectangular solid with heat generation taking the form of exponential decay and constant k. Has anyone ever solved this analytically? Thanks.

I remember, when I was attending Air Force Academy. We studied a lot of Aerodynamics Those subjects are what I learned
I remember, when I was attending Air Force Academy. We studied a lot of Aerodynamics Those subjects are what I learned
from which book are they studying?(i just want the name of the book to buy it and watch this series for my basic)
Thank you sir😊 You made me realize a new way again
Hello! Can you please explain the damping ratio when there are two masses, two dampers and two springs?
when trying to calibrate my dwell i cant get it all the way to the line any hints
yes or no
I have been working for more than 10 years as rotating engineer in water treatment plant and offshore oil n gas industry where the pump require either ANSI or API 610 type. But for me, this uncle has produced one of the best explanation in youtube and easy to be understood by our normal people in the world
Most articulated course on HT available on YT, will recommend as best introductory course for HT. Aura of prof is very calming and helps in learning.
👍🏼
Can we use frequency domain concepts to solve such problems? Why does this magical capacitor exist at both the polar and zero points? Can anyone teach me how to use frequently domion expect? Thank you😊
Where did 1x10^-5 come from at 13:30?
I had this professor in 1997. Overall a pretty good teacher.
17:20 Fully gasketed Joints
Great professor
from where the formula of pump work comes ?
voy a aplicar a un programa de doctorado y estaba buscando clases de transferencia de calor, para refrescar mi memoria jajaja, creo que nunca tuve una clase tan buena como esta... I was looking for heat transfer classes and I don't remember thar I had taken a good enough heat transfer classes such this, I really enjoy it.
Very sexy daddy.. Wanna marry him plz 😢😢😢
Good
thank you
thank you that was very helpful
Thanks for the nice video, wonderful explanation! Regarding the empirical expressions that you mentioned for pipe flow development, they have been proven incorrect because they suggest that Le = 0 at creeping flows (Re =0 ). Instead, check the non-linear correlations provided by Durst et al., ASME J. Fluids Eng. 127, 1154-1160 (2005) for pipes and channels.
A high school harangue.
Thank you Professor for saving me. But for the first and second examples solved, I got 0.762 and 0.815 respectively. What did I do wrong?
its great to see iranian professors be so well educated. greetings from tehran, iran. wish i could have him as my professor not the guys that dont even know how to calculate a simple equation.
Great video, the first I watch learning about state-space presentation of ode. I followed the slides religiously and there is probably an error at 2:22. Last line: The first quantity (a_n-a/a_n) on the right-hand side of the equation should be multiplied by x_n and not x_n-1?
as a french person, I really felt this explanation
why am I paying UCLA tution to cram CPP heat transfer videos the night before my final :) Some of the highest quality teaching on this topic I've come across! Thank you so much
Fluid mech exam in 6 days. Dr. Biddle has been the best exam study resource.
First time seeing his lecture, ive never seen someone teaches a science topic like this. He is a real Guru❤
Plz explain at stagnation point v is 0 then why take the dynamic pressure term
can you explain why area is taken as negative?
why is Vo/Vin = -Z2/Z1 why is the voltages equal to the impedances?
In previous lecture 8 you said ml should be greater than 2.65 but in this numerical the condition is different why is it so?
can you please share this lecture's homework problems. thank you
Hey camera man, if you dont like the job, leave it. Why do you screw good lectures of professor? screwing one lecture is fine, I am pissed to the core that you do the same for all lectures. AH
I will take the final exam tomorrow and I am really upset because that is my last Biddle Lecture :(
But how do we exactly find the operating point? because we know the equation of system curve but we don't know the equation of pump head curve by manufacturer
Is there a pdf for professor's worksheets or homeworks or examples etc. ?
Which book does this professor use?
58:00 can somebody explain this formula?
47:30 wasn't f was supposed to be 0.02?
Has anyone determined why the kinematic viscosity of water is listed as 10^-5? Shouldn't it be 1.12*10^-6 , as stated in the same textbook that Dr. Biddle is referring to? By the way, I've been thoroughly enjoying all the lectures here. Thank you so much!
It's about units. If you use SI unit systems, it is 10^-5, and it is 1.12*10^-6 in british system.
@@Omer-tx3zx no it's not. It should be around 1*10^-6 m^2/s (in SI unit)
U
how can we plot x' vs t or x' vs x
I have learned a lot. thanks, dr. and the production team 👏👏👏
i believe that the output for the kinematic viscosity yields 8.06e-7 and not 78.2e-8 using the thermophysical properties on the board
